Scary experience

March 25, 2013

This is an excerpt from my second book, “Memory Harvest of a Sharecropper’s Son,” which is now available in Amazon Kindle format and in printed format. This story is about more of my travel experiences.

Once waiting for a flight out of Jacksonville, I heard someone yell, “Someone help him.” I looked up and a man about 30 feet from me was on his feet and sounded like he was choking. I started to stand up to go to him when a man in a suit vaulted over the bench by the man and caught him as he fell. The man in the suit said he was a doctor and for someone to call for an ambulance. He went to work on the man.

When the ambulance arrived, the doctor identified himself and continued working. They had electric paddles and he used them. He worked for that man all together for about 30 minutes before everyone gave up and transported him. The man had suffered a heart attack and died.

A week or two later, I saw a man at our bowling lanes keel over with a heart attack. That was a little scary seeing two different people die of heart attacks in such a short time.
