Miscellaneous funnies -1

March 22, 2013

This is an excerpt from my second book, “Memory Harvest of a Sharecropper’s Son,” which is now available in Amazon Kindle format and in printed format. This story is about our secretary at work getting unwanted phone calls at home.

Once at work, our secretary told me about getting telephone calls during the evening from a breather. She usually got calls on Saturday and Sunday evenings. She suspected her ex of making the calls and wondered what to do. I suggested that she stop at a sporting goods store and pick up a metal referee’s whistle. I suggested that the next time she gets a call like that, to blow the whistle loudly and hang up.

The following Monday, she came to me and said she had received a call on Saturday night and blown the whistle. She had not received any since. I grabbed my ear and said, “My ear’s still ringing.” She looked shocked for a moment and then began laughing as she realized I was just kidding.
