Me and my big mouth

March 10, 2013

This is an excerpt from my second book, “Memory Harvest of a Sharecropper’s Son,” which is now available in Amazon Kindle format and in printed format. This story is about me and my big mouth.
Me and my big mouth. While visiting my wife’s sister, my wife told her sister that I still wake her each morning with a kiss after many years of marriage.
I couldn’t leave well enough alone. I tried to make a wise comment by saying, “I would enjoy being waked up with a pretty lady kissing me.” The two women did not say anything, but looked at each other and grinned.
The next morning I found out why they grinned. I had forgotten that my sister-in-law had a dog named, ‘Lady’.
